I’m Melissa, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, FNP-BC) with 14 years of nursing experience and a diverse clinical background spanning high-acuity pediatric care, primary care, and pain management. I spent 12 years caring for critically ill pediatric patients in settings including the NICU, Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), and ICU float teams, experiences that strengthened my clinical judgment, adaptability, and ability to provide compassionate care in complex situations.
I currently practice as a Pain Management Family Nurse Practitioner, managing a high-volume and complex caseload of 20–24 patients daily, including chronic pain, workers’ compensation, and personal injury cases. My role includes comprehensive patient evaluations, diagnostic imaging review, individualized treatment planning, multimodal pain management, medication management, and interventional procedures. I also manage intrathecal pain pumps, including medication refills, dose adjustments, programming, and ongoing monitoring, as well as perform trigger point injections and bursa/joint injections.
In addition to my pain management experience, I have completed more than 600 clinical hours across family practice, pediatrics, geriatric and women’s health, providing care to patients across the lifespan. My clinical experience includes acute and chronic disease management, preventive care, well-woman exams, contraception counseling, prenatal care, pediatric medicine, and patient education.
I’m passionate about building meaningful patient relationships and empowering individuals through education, advocacy, and shared decision-making. I strive to provide personalized, evidence-based care while treating every patient with empathy, respect, and compassion.
